This is a pretty neat video. These guys made a 2D Rubens tube, really a Rubens plate. A pretty fascinating way to see modal behaviors in a 2D system.

Or is it really 3D, because of the box volume below the plate? If the sound is being played into the box, wouldn't that affect the standing waves?
