Re: Acoustic guitar into passive DI Well, I think it was an active pickup, I didn't get a close look, but since I asked the guitarist if there was a battery and he said that he had replaced it I assume it was. I guess I wasn't as calm as I'd like to have been while troubleshooting. Would a passive pickup need some time to "recover" from trying to drive the passive DI when later plugged in to the active DI? I did try an active DI but with same results, only for a brief moment though. Would an active pickup have an easier time driving the input of the guitar players amp than a passive DI? The cables were all TS instrument cables, no TRS, and I tried two or three different ones. I guess I won't be able to come to a definitive answer without access to the guitar, I will check the (passive) DI tomorrow though.
