I am totally new to this forum so thought I'd say a little bit about me. My full time job is playing the piano but I also head up the sound department at a fairly small church which seats around 400 people. I have had a lot of experience with various pa systems and regularly use products from KV2 Audio, Yamaha & EV along with various budget products from quite a few companies. I'm currently using various Allen & Heath digital and analogue desks.
I'm looking for a small pa to use on acoustic jazz gigs running vocal, piano and double bass through them.
I currently have a pair of Alto TS112a's and TS110a's and so far these have been very uesable. However, I've noticed both FBT and Yamaha have launched new ranges recently (X-Lite & DBR). I own a pair of Yamaha DXR15's and find them very impressive considering their price and FBT is a well established company who have been making speakers for 50+ years and have had some excellent products. Both the new FBT X-Lite and Yamaha DBR ranges specs say they have a higher output with extra RCA inputs and a HPF built in which are features that appeal and they are slightly smaller and lighter which is always welcome!!
Has anyone on here been able to compare either the FBT X-Lite or Yamaha DBR ranges to the Alto Truesonic's? How would you describe the tone and output etc of these? Unfortunately I'm unable to get to hear them myself for so user experiences would be helpful at the moment.
