I see a lot of people trying to pass off JBL SR series as SRX. GC is doing this on their used gear list. So my question is do I have a right to call these people out on this?

The varieties of SR series all had the same model numbers for the most part, but were different speakers. For instance, there might have been an SR4732, an SR4732A, and an SR4732X. The "-X" series is the last series before the SRX series.
So, it would be 100% correct to say that the "SR-X" series preceded the "SRX" series. That hyphen means everything, as they are not even close to the same speakers.
Funny thing is, the new STX series is using most of the same drivers that the previous SR series used, as the older series used ceramic magnets and SRX uses neo, and the new series is ceramic again...
