picked up my first danley products yesterday a set of th minis and a set of sh100's. I cant decide the best way to power them. I need everthing to be lightweight and very portable. I was thinking of going qsc plx 1804 for the tops and 3602 for the subs in stereo but then i stared thinking about a crown itech 4k for all 4 speakers since Ill need some level of processing and ive heard they have decent limiters Is this a horrible idea? any other light space saving option come to mind? budget is not the first concern

Im biased and a dealer, but lab gruppen is always a good choice with built in dsp or you could go with powersoft another great brand as well
Those are some highend solutions. I had qsc plx and they sounded dull to me in comparision. Congrats on your purchase, was it new or the recebt ebay listing ?

it was the recent ebay listing.
They seem to be in good shape although i have no experience with them whatsoever. I have had various PLX amps and have been satisfied with them.
There s not much info that i found on the danley site about their amps allthough they appear to be re badged crest pro's and the processor looks like an Ashley.
Im thinking it would save some rack space/clutter to eliminate an outboard dsp however im not set on that as of now. I do need to keep wall power in mind for this system to stay within its intended use which is small, Lightweight, easy to setup/tear down and sounds good of course. I will do some research on the suggestions

Re: amp advice wanted for small danley system

I tried a lot of different amps on my SH-50s, nothing beat a LAB PLM14000.
Itech 12000hd and Dynacord PowerH 5000 came closest, but the PLM had the best processing IMHO.

Lake LM26 and QSC PL 9.0 wasn't bad either.

IMHO buy the best and biggest amp you can afford, regardless of your speaker selection :)

Re: amp advice wanted for small danley system

IIRC, Danley makes and sells their own amps. If anything, those are what you'd power them with.
Danley has a new amp that became available just before the Christmas break. Like the day before.

It is 3700 watts/ch @2 ohm and has presets for Danley speakers built in. And you can adjust the DSP as needed and store the adjustments. It is VERY light weight (10 lbs or so) and is very reasonably priced (NO I don't know the price so don't ask me-i don't deal in that-but call the office 770-535-0204 after Jan 2 for more information)

Re: amp advice wanted for small danley system

Probably way beneath what you want to spend ;)~;-)~ but I use a bridged Behringer NU3000 on my TH-Mini's, even used them outdoors at a couple full-on rock gigs last summer. The iTech 4000 might be a bit on the small side, a 5000 or 6000 could more fully power the subs but the actual difference in SPL would be small.

No no im not looking to spend more then i need to!! I would however like as much as i can out of this setup as possible. Im leaning in the single itech for all four speakers direction but will check on the new offering from Danley before purchase.

Thanks to all for the replies!

You could actually run 4 TH mini subs and 4 SH100's off of a single amp. The TH minis could not be pushed to their full potential off the new Danley amplifier-but you could get pretty close 9within a couple of dB) and get a good bit of sound.

Re: amp advice wanted for small danley system

Hi Steven,

I have powered a TH-Mini with a single channel of a QSC CX404, all of 250 watts, and in that small venue it was fine.
More common is one side of a PLX3602, or a bridged PLX3602, mostly for the headroom.

The four-channel Lab, Powersoft and Crown amps would be nice.

The new Danley amp Ivan is noting is likely very similar to the Crest ProLite 7.5:
Dual Power: 1,170w @ 8 Ohms, 2,030w @ 4 Ohms, 3,790w @ 2 Ohms Can't be bridged. Net weight: 15.2 lbs.
I should have one before the end of the month.
Two 100s on one side, two Minis on the other and you will have a pretty sweet sounding rig.
Make sure you use adequate gauge speaker cable.

A slightly higher powered option is a bridged Peavey IPR3000 or QSC PLX1804 for each TH-Mini, and
one SH100 per side on a ProLite 7.5.

The 100s are Very Nice sounding boxes!
And the Minis are quite competent for their size and weight. If you can, I would place them together for the coupling.

Thanks and good health, Weogo

I figured that may be the case with the crest pro-lite. Where are you finding the Pro-lite series?? I know the 2.0 and 3.0 have been available for some time but I searched a few months ago for the larger models with no luck

Re: amp advice wanted for small danley system

Hi Steven,

From a large, online supplier I ordered a Pro Lite 7.5 in October, with a two week delivery date.
Oops, that's going to be early December.
Ok, now 95% sure mid January.
Will post when it arrives!

Thanks and good health, Weogo
