Re: amp advice wanted for small danley system
Hi Steven,
I have powered a TH-Mini with a single channel of a QSC CX404, all of 250 watts, and in that small venue it was fine.
More common is one side of a PLX3602, or a bridged PLX3602, mostly for the headroom.
The four-channel Lab, Powersoft and Crown amps would be nice.
The new Danley amp Ivan is noting is likely very similar to the Crest ProLite 7.5:
Dual Power: 1,170w @ 8 Ohms, 2,030w @ 4 Ohms, 3,790w @ 2 Ohms Can't be bridged. Net weight: 15.2 lbs.
I should have one before the end of the month.
Two 100s on one side, two Minis on the other and you will have a pretty sweet sounding rig.
Make sure you use adequate gauge speaker cable.
A slightly higher powered option is a bridged Peavey IPR3000 or QSC PLX1804 for each TH-Mini, and
one SH100 per side on a ProLite 7.5.
The 100s are Very Nice sounding boxes!
And the Minis are quite competent for their size and weight. If you can, I would place them together for the coupling.
Thanks and good health, Weogo
