It's that time of year again and I've begun what I THINK is my 17th year doing sound for the Stanford Jazz Workshop and Festival.
Most of the time this involves "reinforcing" acoustic groups with the gear at hand rather than "doing PA" in the manner generally perceived around here.
But this is the Festival's 40th year so they wanted to do something special and brought Brazilian singer/guitarist Milton Nacimento and his band in for two days to play in the 700 seat Auditorium in the Music Department. This is a much smaller venue than he and his band are accustomed to but we still had to hire in a "real" sound system
It's just a BIT more than the single Renkus Heinz SR7 on a tripod that usually gets used in this venue.
