Most of the new Turbosound stuff at NAMM is demo non-working speakers (in other words, props). I am most interested in the iNSPIRE IP1000 units -- I feel like they'll make perfect satellite speakers at events, where looks are more important than sound and everyone hates tripods. The guy I talked to said they're still 6 months from shipping.

As a general rule-trade shows are a poor place to listen to loudspeakers and see how they "sound".

You can't do much on the show floor, and even in the demo rooms-there are limits as to what you can hear.

You only hear the processed system-with the material they want to play.

Sometimes there are exceptions.

You also can't do side by sides.

I've always thought it would be fun (and the most talked about and popular demo room) if a manufacturer would bring in competitors products-processed as they recommend and so some side by side listening.

I think that would be asking for "trouble" however---
