Yes I know you get what you pay for in wireless mics, but my budget doesn't stretch to the new Shure's in the 530 to 690 mhz band soon to be enforced here in Australia

I have someone who has latched on to me somehow pushing a chinese brand called "Lipo" from China

Frequency band is what I need, on paper looks ok for amateur theatre which is my application

Anyone used any of their gear and can offer any comments good, bad or really bad :-)

TIA

To be short, stay away!!! you say that you dont have the money but the fact is that you will buy the cheap chinese stuff many times over and probly end up spending more than if you where to buy a reputable brand straight up!! Call it a lesson learned the hard way!!!!!

Thanks Again David

Having to get rid of my current rig which largely comprises Shure gear because of the band plan changes hurts of a number of levels. I have aquired my 24 parallel channels over a couple of years, some of it brand new, some 2nd hand and varying brands from the Shures, even a couple of Behringers, and 8 of the chinese cheapies have served me well in the amateur theatre gigs I have done and there have been lots.

I don't have the dollars for Axient which I would love (wouldn't we all), to replace the lot with something like Shure ULX will cost me circa $52,000, and this guy from Sydney contacted me about the Lipo stuff telling me he is using 20 parallel channels for amateur theatre stuff in Sydney. He has a vested interest because he wants me to buy some too, but if you never ask the wider community you never know. :-) There maybe some cheap stuff out there that is good, can't see why not as my past experience with some of the cheapies working with the higher end gear hasn't been bad to date.

I will be at Entech 2013 in Sydney next month, so with a bit of luck there will be some good name brand vendors there with some show specials.

For what it's worth, what else are people using who need 20 parallel channels that ISN'T Shure that will still be compatible with the new 530 - 690 mhz band plan charging towards us ??

TIA
Michael

Have a look on here. There are a fare people using the Mipro gear with excellent results I believe. I have used it here in Australia and it has been quite good, but haven't used 20 channels. Also I believe that Lectrosonics are quite good price wise here in Australia.

Will investigate your options and report back
