This setup was fine for a week then randomly one night is was fading in normal volume to quiet and having interference. Please listen to the sample uploaded below to see what I mean:

Bat flattery?

Sounds like a bad connection or cable. My guess is the input jack couldn't take the torque from a standard cable, having been made for a much lighter wire.
