Audix Microbooms or other unobtrusive mics for drum overheads?

My reason for looking at the Microbooms or any other options that y'all may suggest, is because my OCD loves the clean look of underhead mics, but my ears however, love the sound of having a better "picture" of the entire kit. Has anyone ever used Audix Microbooms as drum overheads? Pros/Cons?

A friend of mine used a 4063 with a DMM0001 Miniature Clip in the drummers tie for a gig. Sounded really good.

Assuming you can get the drummer to wear a tie, of course! lol
