B&C DE75ptn vs. DE85tn, Whats the difference?

Re: B&C DE75ptn vs. DE85tn, Whats the difference?

Clearly it's "10 better" :)

Really just looks like an updated version. A small design change that yielded some updated specs in terms of Xover and slightly less weight.

Alan,

As Kip surmises the DE85TN is 10 better ;) It is an updated DE75PTN with shorting copper cap to increase HF sensitivity and reduce distortion. Same diaphragm. The P in the DE75PTN stands for its plastic phase plug, as opposed to the original machined aluminum in the DE75. The DE85TN also has a plastic phase plug, but it always has so there is no distinct product code.

The DE75PTN has really been replaced by the DE750TN, which has a bigger magnet and therefore better sensitivity, and also incorporates a shorting copper cap.
