Re: Baby PresonusThe DM1000 is an amazing little mixer that can do heaps with the right expansion cards. It's days are numbered, though. My Digital Crystal Ball™ says we'll see Yamaha introduce 3 tiers of new digital mixing products, the first one will be be the PM1D replacement followed by the low end tier that replaces their current mid/low line analog mixers. The mid-tier will be phased in as they probably aren't ready to obsolete the M7 or LS/9 platforms just yet (firmware updates and new features before EOL), and the PM5d market still exists. WAVES new Yamaha interfaces (and derivative devices TBA) will be the de facto plug-in architecture. Ethersound will be the native transport system, with Mini-YGDAI cards to interface with the rest of the world (AES/EBU, Dante, local-surface analog i/o). It will probably begin this year. The DCB also says people will still say "it sounds like a Yamaha" no matter what it sounds like. Ooops, there goes the reception.... I guess I need an outdoor antenna for this thing....Nudge, wink.Tim Mc
