Behringer just announced their new X Air mixers.

They seems to have android and iapd apps and prices starting at 300 dollars. Pretty crazy for a digital mixer with programmable mix pres, fx and recording interface.

And they fit nicely under the Christmas Tree.

Same chip as the X32. Like the SMPro UMix stuff. 2 models, one rack and one DL like 18 Ch $800USD, one 16CH half XLR for $500ish, and a 12 ch with 4 XLR for $300ish.
Nice

The Android app is Mixing Station. Dave either made a boat load of money or they hired him.

If these included distributed processing (off-loading tasks from one box to another while maintaining i/o) in a fully networked (was Ethersound or CobraNet when I saw it) system with decentralized control, it would look a lot like.... uh... never mind. Had to sign that NDA....

I hope Dave made a big bunch of money, he did an incredible job with Mixing Station. I 'bought' the donation version from the Play Store because I used the app so much. :)

With some packaging changes and some user security functions I can see these spawning a line of install products.

They do none of this, unless they have room for Dante internally. Were you talking BSS?

Nope, another manufacturer who I can't name, showed me and a couple other folks some black boxes that look a little like these but did more when you hooked them together (kind of like the Borg). And that's all I can probably say about it... Other than the company that showed me the prototypes is probably regretting not introducing their products shortly after I saw them.

Wow, this means the next series Mixer must be free or $10.00. How does behringer make money?

Well there was the SMPro U-Mix mini, 16, and 24's But they don't hook together. Presonus has the ability to connect 2 32ch Racks together. Mackie hinted about a 32ch rack with a shadowy ad but it is not out yet. Yamaha? Who knows. You do!
