I'm interested in the forthcoming X-Touch products as a control surface for my keyboard rig.
1. Is there a real release date on these? I checked with a dealer I use frequently, and he said it's not in the system yet, indicating anywhere from 6 to infinity weeks out.
2. Can the X-Touch do regular MIDI mode like the Compact, or only Mackie Control? I would be using this with Mainstage, and I'm getting conflicting information about capabilities. I know that the Compact is the product designed for this use, but would prefer the full X-Touch if possible. It seems there are some workarounds to be able to use at least the scribble strips via sending SysEx. This would be easier if the X-Touch could do some kind of hybrid MIDI/Mackie Control.
