Behringer X32 and S16 Digital Snake setup?

Hello everyone,
I'm new here but have been doing sound for quite some time now. We are looking to upgrade to digital and are looking at the Behringer X32 console with the Behringer S16 Digtial Snake system that is actually made to "team up" with the X32. Now...our old setup was your typical anolog FOH console, anolog Monitor console with an anolog splitter snake going to both consoles. Our goal is to have this same setup, only digital. SO....our plan is to get (2)Behringer X32 consoles, and (2) Behringer S16 Digital snake systems to have 32 input channels and 16 returns all linked via CAT5e cabling. This will save us time setting up and eliminate most if not all our outboard gear AND finally get rid of that heavy, bulky splitter snake!! I think this is quite possible but would like to ask if anyone here has done this?? I also know that one X32 has the ability to run both FOH and Monitor with the Behringer P16 "mini" mixers but we are trying to keep the setup old school as we are still wanting to keep a sound guy at each end. What do you guys think? Any input or opinions are appreciated. Thanks

Eddie, This is exactly what we are doing. Our first big gig is coming up this Labor Day using two X32's and two S-16's. We have had this setup in a test environment and used suggestions from Behringer and several others. There seems to be more than one way to do this. I think ours works great. The monitor X32 controls the gain on the preamps. The L and R signal passes direct through the monitor X32 and comes out 15 and 16 on the 2d S-16. I also have, by using aux 1, set up so that a monitor send from the FOH can be sent to the monitor X32 for cases where track are played at FOH but needs to come out in the monitors or cases where you don't need a monitor engineer and just want a to use the FOH for monitors. Also we have the FOH talkback able to come out of the monitors via aux 2. We have set up Eight monitor mixes and they appear on 1-8 outputs on both the Monitor board and the 1st S-16. Let me know if you want our files for this setup. I need to get the files posted somewhere, but haven't done that yet. We want to test it in the real world before. Jerry

Hi Jerry,
i have hooked up the 2mixers and 2s16 (monitor Cat5 A out to S16 and Cat5 B out to FOH desk), all input from S16 is working fine with the FOH & Mon. My problem is when I use the Aux in for my iPod into my Monitor mixer the sound only coming out to the Stage. Are you able to tell me how I can send signal to FOH desk and then send it back to my S16 so the sound can come out to the FOH? Thanks
