B&K (Brüel & Kjaer) Type 4007 Phantom Powered Omnidirectional Condenser Microphone, Serial #1085874. Exceptional microphone for close micing of percussion instruments, or distance micing of choirs and orchestras. Its extremely flat frequency response (+/- 2dB 20Hz - 40kHz), high SPL ability (155dB), and stability over time and in various temperatures and humidities also make this the industry's acoustic measurement microphone of choice. Qualifies as an ANSI S1.4 Type 1 microphone for measurement of industrial and environmental noise, as well as IEC 61672 Class 1.
This model microphone was taken over by DPA, it is the same as the DPA Type 4007. It has just returned from DPA who cleaned it and calibrated it, certifying it meets specification.
Microphone comes in Pelican hard case as shown, with mic stand adapter. I do not require a Type 1 microphone or frequency response to 40kHz. I would like to replace this microphone with a matched pair of Type 2 mics, which is why I am selling it. I have used it only for acoustic measurement. You undoubtedly know what this is and how good it is.

DPA Website said:4007 Reference Microphone, P48
The High-SPL Reference Microphone 4007 is a phantom powered (P48) close miking specialist with an extremely linear on-axis frequency response from 20 Hz to 40 kHz (±2 dB).
- unbeatable dynamic range
- close miking recording situations regardless of the sound source
- specially designed to handle extremely high sound pressure levels
This high-performance condenser microphone has an unbeatable dynamic range of 124 dB from the noise floor to 1% THD and is capable of handling up to 155 dB SPL peak before clipping occurs.
The 4007 has through its total acoustical transparency and ultra-high SPL handling capability gained a reputation as being the first choice for picking up drums, percussion and brass instruments, whenever the natural and non-distorted result is paramount.
4007 is, due to its linear qualities, also used as reference microphone in both microphone comparisons and acoustic test equipment.
