CA theater acoustics

Anyone familiar with theatres in Cali?
Which would be a better theatre to see an amplified rock show?
James R Armstrong Theatre in Torrance, or the Regency Ballroom in San Fran?
Acoustics are the most important factor for me. i.e. Dead like an anechoic chamber is best imo. Reverberant concert halls are the worst.

Since I'm pretty sure that you work too much to actually take time off to go see a show, you might as well spill the beans as to what new secret project you are working on.

I have some time off in CA and I've always wanted to see "The Musical Box", and they're playing at those 2 venues, and I'd like to see them at the best sounding venue as poor acoustics have ruined more shows for me than I care to count.
You're right that it's very rare that I ever get an opportunity to see a show, so I'd like to make the most of it.

If you are not looking for a live room, avoid the Regency Ballroom. Mixed both rooms in the past and you would prefer the Torrance room.
