Saw this place, Nye's Polonaise Room, featured on an episode of "Diners, Drive-In's and Dives" the other night. They also showed the house band, "The World's Most Dangerous Polka Band." I looked everywhere for you, Dick. Must have been your night off.

I live approximately 3 blocks from Nye's...... if you are ever in town try their cabbage rolls!

Forget the cabbage rolls.....go for the prime rib. Especially if your father-in-law is paying.

I did get a call once to fill in for Baby Ruth. When I told them how much I got paid they said that they didn't pay the whole band that much! And believe me, I gave them a very reasonable rate. That's what happens when you've played a gig forever. The wages were OK in 1955, but the same money in 1995 just didn't cut it.
