I have an ipad that I use with my LS9 (Stagemix), but still occasionally use an 01V96. I prefer using a tablet over the ipad for VNC, and I always run into problems when I use my old router. I got a new 5G router that I use with ipad and LS9. Tablet does not recognize it. Can the tablet be upgraded to see the 5g network? It is a Motion LE1600.

Adam,
My local computer guy is having trouble locating one of these network cards for me. Would one of the little USB adaptors work OK?

The USB ones would work. But the PCMCIA one doesn't fall out as easy. And I had one sitting around still.

As long as you make sure not to bump it out is the only thing to watch out for.

In my experience 802.11n in the 5gHz band is very fast, even though it's been out a few years. Using premium APs I can get 100+mb out of it within a reasonable distance, and if it needs to go through an exterior wall it is usually still faster than 802.11g. At my townhouse there is an enormous range advantage since the 2.4gHz spectrum is so crowded that it can get unreliable just a room or two away, whereas the only other 5gHz signal I can see is 40dB down from my signal in my living room. At my girlfriend's apartment in Boston you can see more than 20 other signals in the 2.4gHz spectrum, if her apartment weren't so small it would be almost unusable. There's still plenty of breathing room in the upper frequency band.
