Any of you members? Did you get any leads work out of the membership? I have recently been talking to a rep in my area who is giving me a pitch about why I should join.

I get two things thanks to my C of C: Money from them for providing production for their events, and loads of email spam because they sold their contact lists (to pay me, I guess. It's a vicious circle.)

We were the last provider in town with a calendar opening. They *needed* us but required that we join the chamber before they'd hire us. We got NOTHING from them after. They had/have a preferred AV contractor and any work we would be would be at their detriment. We'd have to underbid them significantly to get the CoC work, and it's not worth it.
Congratulations on being the "go to" guy in the Permian Basin, Milt, but for us it ain't worth the money.
