Hey all,

I'm experimenting with computer code for a specific platform, and I've been thinking about a demo project, as it is always good to work towards a goal. With that in mind, would anyone use the following widget?
  1. Send a text with your customer/potential customer's number to a specific number
  2. Customer gets a guided sms script for inputting their information
  3. You receive a guided sms script for a quote or invoice
  4. Both parties receive an PDF quote or invoice via email and/or sms

Welcome your thoughts, and/or other features that would interest you.

Cheers,

PS I would make it free up to my free tier usage limits.

I like the idea.
How about having different discounts to your registered contacts?
At my dayjob different types of customers have different discounts on items based on where they are in the marked and what they do. So If that could be integrated into the system it would become a very quick way of making a generic quote for a dry rental/small job :)

Helge,

That is beginning to sound like a real product :-)

Whatever I whip as a first pass would not store any information about either side of the transaction beyond the point of PDF generation. Your customer list, contacts, or any sort of history would not be retained.

Hi Phil,
Where is the information being input? I assume that the sms's contain links to webpages?

Drew,

The client/quotee would respond to a prompted SMS script with SMS, no browser.

Moot point, though. No interest, so i'll whip up some other widget.

Ah. It seems like an interesting concept but I have to think it would be time consuming to do everything via sms. Perhaps I (as usual) don't fully understand. Regardless, better luck with the next idea.
