I've been dating the "right one" for 12 years and who know, one day we might get married. But we're happy.

Now begins the most excruciatingly painful project that you will ever undertake...planning the wedding. Trust me once you've been through it once, you won't ever want to do it again.

Hah! No, fortunately her family thinks I'm great, and vice versa, and both get along excellently. We looked at some venues over the weekend after driving to NH to tell my folks in person (hers live in OR), and got a good idea of cost as well as what kind of place we don't like. A little stressful, but it would be nice to get the venue and date out of the way, for sure. So far, aside from the ceremony, we plan on it being not particularly traditional. Hard to do anyway, when a non-observant Jew marries an agnostic Protestant.

I worked a few gigs with a great Swedish guy who rented out a camp that was made to look like an old western town. They did a full cowboy themed wedding and planned a bunch of craziness throughout. I was not there, but according to friends, it was a blast.
