Contact Cleaner

I picked up a 1RU mixer with some scratchy pots, and need to hit it with some contact cleaner. Is there a brand or formula that is better these days?

The Caig line of cleaner still serves us well.

Caig Deoxit 5% solution might...might...help you out...some.

You'll have to search the web for supply houses that carry it.

I would look at Caig MCL instead if it's scratchy pots or faders. The Deoxit works best for switches, connectors and internal ribbon or card headers.

The Caig website says....NOTE: (Name change in 2006: From CaiLube MCL to DeoxIT FaderLube, part numbers remain the same)

Am i missing something here?

I use CRC QD Electronic Cleaner from the local auto parts shop. Once dry, I sometimes put in a drop or two of magic Caig juice.

I use Alcon Opti-Free Pure Moist. Really helps them keep from getting scratchy.
