Current sale on one of Harbor Freights' pleasant surprises

All,

Since I know that some amount of woodworking is pretty much tied to people doing production, I thought I would give a heads up on the Harbor Freight bar clamps (e.g. this one or this one). These are known as one of the pleasant surprises at Harbor Freight amidst the broad swaths of junk.

They come in sizes from 6" to 36". With the current sale, and the ubiquitous 20% off HF coupons, I was able to buy 4 of every size from 6" to 30" plus two 36" for under $100. I would have purchased more 36" if they had more, but people had snagged many of them already at our local store.

Make sure you buy only this series of clamps from HF, their quick release clamps are dreadful. You know you're buying the correct clamps when:
  • They are "Pittsburgh" branded
  • They have a rubberized handle
  • They are blue or yellow

Cheers,

PS check the ones in the store to make sure the jaws on them butt up square. Every once and a while you'll find one that's a little off.
