Decent 2x18" subwoofer

A few years back, if you wanted a decent 2x18" passive subwoofer, "everybody" seemed to agree on the JBL SRX728 as a good choice.
AFAIK it's now discontinued.

Has a new favorite emerged on this forum?

I replaced my SR-4719 subs (the predecessor to the SRX728) with SRX 828p powered subs, and its been fantastic. They put out plenty of power, sound good, and are easy to move around. if you want unpowered, you might consider the STX 828, or the new SRX 828 unpowered ones. Personally, I've switched everything over to powered with built-in processing... it's been a great change.

the 728 is STILL an amazing box. Just because they are discontinued doesn't mean they aren't great. Their newer offerings are a bit heavier, but sound quality seems to be right in the same ballpark. They are more truck pack friendly as well.

If you're looking for a pair of 728's, I have a couple in pristine condition that I want to move. I'm looking to trade them for SRX718's instead, as the smaller boxes would be more convenient for the shows I typically do.

I'm looking for 8-16 units of decent quality. They can be used.
I just took delivery of 8x KF750 for cheap and I'm looking at subs for them so I can have a decent trap rig.
Dual 18" stack nicely for this

Every time I've seen a KF750 rig, it's been SB1000s underneath it. But those are in a rather different price range than the 728s

Over here a lot of people are using SB750 since they stack better.

I'm keeping an eye open for deals on some used SB750/1000, they can be had reasonably cheap sometimes.
