Hey guys,

I've built 3 of these and shot them out against the classic rev H's and the new remakes and the DIY one SMOKES them. I would recommend the Rev D.

The best part about this build is that they will ship you the metal work/knobs/whatever which is always the hardest part of a project for me.

For the transformers/case: Hairball Audio

There is a build of materials list for the major electronic component resellers.

Total cost is around $500 for a truly kick ass compressor.

Here is the wiring guide: Building The DIY 1176LN Revision D

Very easy, and an awesome sounding project.

Very cool Mike. The 1176 is a classic and outstanding on many different sources. This is a great option for folks unwilling to pony up 2 grand on a Universal branded version, or for those who simply want a fun DIY project that yields a world class comp.

Cheers
Jeff
