Re: DIY Padded Speaker Covers Hi Nathan, I made some for my speakers about 4 years ago, since they were impossible to source (my speakers are off-brand). My speakers happen to have one handle, and are wedge-shaped, so I designed them by working out the dimension of each of the four sides, and the top, and made a pattern for each with paper. Remember to make the pattern so there is an extra inch or so of overlap. I bought 2 quilted moving blankets for about $20 each from Princess Auto here in Ottawa, Canada, enough to do 6 speakers. Then I took my girlfriend's sewing machine, tried to remember everything I learned in home economics in grade 8, and sewed them inside out. I double-stitched all the seams. I think that's the trick you might be looking for, not sure your experience in sewing. I did one complete speaker cover first, to see how it turned out. Once finished, turned right-side out, it fit nicely. So I drew a box where I wanted the handle hole, pulled off the cover, and drew a box inside the first box, and cut it out, then snipped diagonal cuts to each corner creating tabs. Flipping the cover inside out I sewed the tabs back, to create a nice finished look. I re-inforced the corners with stitches as I wanted to make sure they didn't rip. One hint is to use a good, strong needle as I broke a bunch before heading to a sewing shop to get a better needle. And try to use a good, strong sewing machine as quilted moving cloth gets thick when you start doubling it up for stitches. Also, if I did it again I'd spring for a higher quality moving blanket as the quilted stitching in mine has been damaged over the years. Good luck, if you're still around on the forum. ...Greg
