Had a wireless issue knock out three of the diaphragm's in my STX 825's today. Got to have them fixed by Tuesday. Most places are charging $200.00 for a factory piece, & of course there are several different "off brand" replacement's on ebay for $50.00 each. Has anyone used these? The price sure is nice, but......

I have used the aftermarket "cheap" diaphrams in my JBL 4732X horns when in a pinch and so far so good!

My experience, which is from about 5 years ago, is that there was a lot of variation in the cheap knock offs, you might get something that sounds good OK, or not...

Yes. We had dozens of 2445H in use. Most had genuine JBL diaphragms, but we had a few "aftermarket" parts as well. None of the aftermarket parts sounded like the genuine article, although Radian got the closest (and Radian were the most consistent amongst themselves).

It sucks, but I strongly recommend that you use only genuine JBL parts. When you have to start marking boxes because they have different parts and don't sound like the rest of your inventory, you'll understand when they get mixed up...

Have fun, good luck.

Thanks. I can see your point. Not only that, but looks like JBL went to a different driver in the stx-725 than the one's in my srx 725's of which the aftermarket alternatives could be found. Guess it'll be 200.00 factory pieces. Gotta' have them installed & ready for a rodeo next week on Tuesday. Bad timing.....

Re: Does anyone have any experience with knockoff JBL horn diaphragm's?

Many years ago I tried some of the cheap copies. They were nothing like the real thing. VERY hard to align-not as much top end-not as loud but hey-they were CHEAP.

I am sure there are many different companies out there selling copies-some better than others.

You really need to get specific with what company you are talking about.

There are several different sellers selling them on ebay. The STX 725 has gone to a different diaphragm that is a really nice, "self aligning" design. $650.00 in pain, but back up & running. Thanks.

Lot of people have this problem here in India. JBL have replaced diaphragms free if purchased recently.
