I just tell folks it's the American inability to pronounce properly spelled German names (it's pronounced like "lease"). Probably due to the fact that English is such a hash of inconsistencies (is "F" spelled "F" or is it "ph" or something else???)....and that's probably why English is so flexible ( the more flexible the thing, the less absolute are it's rules).</blockquote>
