Re: DUS Audio from Audipile.net
I recently picked up a pair of X-10 speakers to use for vocals monitors in my small church in place of a single Yamaha CM12V which got moved to drum duty. They sound good at reasonable volumes, but I haven't pushed them so I can't comment on their sound under those circumstances. Although constructed from MDF, the build quality is solid and looks professional. I have them both on one channel of an RMX 1850HD which is more than enough amp.
For general purpose use, I would have gone with the X-12 which is still only 43 lbs and has a little more extension and SPL (on paper). But I wanted something very low profile for this particular application and don't need the volume.
Concur with Tim's suggestion to contact Audiopile to see if they might work for your application. Based on the published sensitivity and power handling, they're not going to be the loudest speakers out there, but I don't think there's much competition in the sub-$200 price range.
