I recently acquired some EAW SM222 cabs all are the J versions. I purchased 4 initially and found another 6 later but two of the 6 do not have woofers in them. The model number on the woofer is RCF L12P-400. I have searched high and low before posting and even emailed RCF to see if there was a cross reference to this model. They stated that they did not support the EAW drivers anymore. I was thinking of getting the Dayton Audio DATS system and getting measurements and and finding something that models close but I don't know how accurate those measurements will be due to the age of these drivers. Any help would be appreciated.

Richard, I might have 6 of the RCF's . I can look tomorrow. I'll let you know. Jerry

Re: EAW SM222 woofers

EAW used a few different drivers on those boxes over the years. The datasheet lists the woofer as an RCF PRO L12/544, although I seem to recall that a JBL woofer was also used for a time (don't remember the model). The different variants do behave a bit differently, and aren't quite interchangable.

Re: EAW SM222 woofers

Have you talked to EAW about it?

No I have not. Since the woofers had RCF badges I just naturally thought to start there as I figured its always cheaper than trying to go through them. I have had to do that in the past with some of my SB1000 subs until I just put the Eighteen Sounds in them and saved myself some money.
