I recently bought a bunch of lights off ebay. For the most part all of them work fine except a pair of Martin Mini Mac Profiles (I know, there not the best lights in the world, but they will do the job and do it well for what I need) One needs a new belt, I bought it for next to nothing. The other was described as in good condition and working but unable to test. The one that needed the new belt was $120, the one that supposedly needed nothing was $200 with free shipping. I recieved them both, sent the one that needed the new belt off to the shop and that was that. The other arrived and was sugnificantly more beat up than it had looked in the pictures. Parts of the case were missing, the display was screwed up, and the plastic arround the casae was screwed up. I sent the seller a message but at this point, I'm trying to decide if I should A, Bite the bullet and pay for the fixture to be repaired. B complain to Ebay/Paypal etc, C, Offer to split the cost of the repair with the seller, or D, something else. This is assuming the seller won't take the unit back of course, I want to be diplomatic, and while this isn't the biggest loss of money I will have taken from e-bay, It would suck to loose. On the other hand, I have been badgered by ebay/paypal after one of these cases, and even after bending over backwards and tieing myself in knots for the customer. And treated like shit for months after the event. It was one of the big reasons I stopped using paypal as a seller. What would you guys do? Ill post some pictures of the unit later for you guys to get an idea of the damage etc.
