[QUOTE="Liam Jason, post: 12418, member: 9368"] Hi- First post here - Delighted to find this place, what a resource! never new it existed until I googled ev dc-one and up it popped so good find. I recently invested in an EV tour x system (2x 1152 4x 1181 2x Q1212 and a DC-ONE) Having great fun when running full range and just using the 1152's and one Q1212 for light gigs where not a lot of oomph is required. Using the whole system though has not been so much fun: the last night out when I introduced the subs into the system I had to do a lot of (rack) EQ to balance it out. My problem is this: it just seems like the subs are too powerful or are acting as if they are too close to the source - for example as soon as I push for any volume from a line on the desk that has a microphone as source input I get feedback in the <100hz range. I have never had this problem before and on the night i went back to 'back up' using the old system with rack xover and EQ - it sounded like the kinda mess you'd get in if you put the subs on the stage and the issues that come with that - for the record The subs are 3 feet in front of the stage left and right and problem manifested with stage monitors turned off so all FOH related. first mistake - no laptop with me and didnt know the editor well enoug in a panic situation... lesson learned... I was a bit dissapointed as it was my first night out with it and had hoped to be as equally impressed with the subs included than i had been with the 1152's on their own! So... I have been going through the dc-one editor (In fairness this is my first use of a digital unit for managing xover eq etc so no doubt is my lack of understanding of the unit) looking at my presets - One thing I notice is that the dc-one xover has a 6db bell lift at 40hz which would explain alot - as well as that lift in the crossover the output channels for the sub have bell eq boosts of 3db at 50hz and and 2db at 200hz This seems like a very strange starting point for a system though it is the official preset for 1152+1181 sub. so I am wondering does any one have experiences with this dc-one unit and speakers?
