I just aquired an EV N/D868 microphone used. The foam windscreen is intact but I can tell it's not gonna be for long . The internal pop filter that covers the diaphragm was barely there and I was able to rub it off with my finger and get the area cleaned up. I called EV Service today and was told the windscreen and pop filter were no longer available. I see this mic still on the website and musofwend is still selling it....listing it to be shipped sometime in march. But no replacement windcreens available?? :x~:-x~ Did I get someone without a clue at EV or is this mic not being continued so no "parts" are available? Anyone with any ideas as to where I could get some windsreen foam if not?

Sounds like EV customer service ain't what it used to be.
I'd suggest removing the messed up internal screen and putting on an external windscreen. It will do as good or better job, and only cost a few dollars.
There are several very inexpensive large diaphragm condenser mics (MXL, Studio Projects etc.) that have external screens, one from them would fit if a standard ball mic screen is too small.

I have always been happy with EV customer support until recently. Im waiting on some presets and made contact with a guy, sent a few emails back and forth and then nothing. Fairly disappointed. I hope there are still some parts for the n/d868 though its an excellent mic..... Check and see if the windscreen on the newer PL33 would fit. If I remember right both microphones are about the same size.

I'd rather not go the external route..and that still wouldn't solve replacing my internal pop filter. I had thought the same thing on the PL33...I will call again monday. I sent two emails late last week..but never heard from anyone. EV is definantly slipping in my opinion!
