Henry,
actually,they do a few Catholic Church Carnivals every year.I do remember one though that had a problem putting their name in the church bulletin so they had them listed as " Flaminco Dick and The Hot Rods" And there is a very simple explanation for the name.The leaders real name is Richard as was his fathers.They called both of them Dick. Well young Dick has always been into old cars and had several cars with flames painted on them and people began calling him Flamin Dick.When he started this band 25 years ago,he used that name.

I can see where the church bulletin may have had a problem.
But once you explain the story behind the name it all becomes very innocent.

The band even has an explanation of the name on their website.The name has caused some problems in the past.In fact the Lebanon Fair
( where the video was recorded) didn't want to hire them intially because of the name.But a few of the board members persisted and now we've been one of their biggest draws for the past 6 years.
