Hi, everyone. I just faced a famous win7 problem called "Microphone volume is very low although everything is correct". This is a bug thousands of people experienced. Some treads about this problem have about 60 000 views and there is still no clear solution. Everyone blame Win7.
My story is, I have a good headset, after some HDD problem I had to reinstall my windows, installed a new copy in different language from a different source. Now my micro is really low. Before the reinstall it was great with 50 volume but now it is not OK at 100%. I tried to reinstall drivers so many times and did all this tricks people advise you to do in Sound win7 menu, but still nothing.

What I wanted to ask is: do you guys know any software to enhance the volume? You are sound professionals and should know any of them.. or maybe some tricks to resolve this problem. I am a youtuber and I really need my microphone to work properly, but right now I am desperate. Sorry for my English.

as professionals, we generally use totally different microphones for our purposes. I use linux, so I can't help you with windows, sorry. As a consolation, try speaking louder and/or closer to the mic.

If you can find a multimeter, see what the output voltage of your headset jack is.

I don't think it'll help but I'm curious.

Never had any problem with even low cost recording interfaces in Win7. That being said, this is most likely a driver issue. This could be due to dual purpose line/mic jack switch over. Or the PGA on the codec is not being set high enough. I have seen this problem on android devices for output levels. There are in fact apps/kernel hacks to fix it. I would contact either your motherboard manufacturer, since they were supposed to ensure driver compatibility, or the codec/sound-card manufacturer directly.

EDIT: I realized the word codec might be confusing. I mean a chip/package a-la realtek, analog devices, etc. which typically contains an ADC, DAC, Programmable Gain Amplifier, Signal Routing Unit/Matrix, and etc. for use in low cost consumer devices.
