Started my move into DMX lighting last Oct, with a set of 4 Intimidator 1.0's and things grew from there. I added a few things along the way, ended up selling some things that weren't working as well (being washed out by newer brighter lights.) Finally arrived at my "vision" of a full setup and worked towards it.

Full band setup:
16' aluminum triangle rear truss
11 Blizzard 3NX
4 Martin Minimac Profiles
4 Chauvet Spot Duos
Antari HZ300 hazer
DMXIS

Here's the setup in action, I'm really happy with how it all turned out. I also have some Blizzard Fab5's for lighting the band.

Nice setup! How do you like DMXIS vs. any software controller or have you ever tried software-based controlling of your lights?

That's the only software controller I've tried. I had an obey70 that I couldn't get anywhere with, ESPECIALLY when trying to hook up a foot pedal. An FCB1010 (ugh) actually works quite well with the. Same story, picked it up because it was cheap, the Roland version wasn't in. It worked well enough that I never bothered with the Roland.

DMXIS works really well. I'm by no means a Lampie. I had a bit of an idea of DMX and a rudimentary knowledge of MIDI. I was able to configure an app called TouchOSC to run it from my iPad, so it's worked out pretty good!

I do. I have a blizzard Fab5 on each side. I went with those since they are an RGBAW fixture. I have 8 Fab5's total. I plan on using 2 per side in the future. Right now I attach the Fab5's to the fly points on my Unity15's.

You can see it a bit better in this pic.. And yes I know the Unity15's should be higher.

Wow ! good and great congratulations on your big achievements.

Thanks. Last year the goal was upgrading all my power amps and buying a 5x12 trailer. It's all been baby steps along the way, slowly buying gear as gig money was able to pay for it. I have a DJ light rig as well, basically using 5 Fab5's, 3 Mini Kintas, 2 Spot Duos and 2 Jellydomes on an 8' truss. So that works out as well.

I'm happy to finally be able to start putting money in the bank. That way I'll be ready of I have to make another big move. I think my next goal is to buy a new truck. My 03 Dakota is getting a little tired, so in the spring I think I'll see about getting a new or newer Dodge 1500.
