Floating Pool Speakers!!

Hey Guys,

I've been blogging about floating pool speakers which are considered to be the new "in" thing today. They are fully waterproof wireless speakers which have a nice LED lighting to them that makes swimming a rather cool thing. Heck, you can even take a conference call while floating in the pool or the sea. Do check them out! Here's a nice pic of what an outdoor floating pool speaker looks like:

But since they are wireless it is not such a big deal.

To me this sounds a lot more an add than a post though.

In most cases I would probably not want other peoples music being near me when I swim-especially when coming out of what is probably very cheap sounding speakers.

I bet they would become more of a "target" than trying to provide audio for people in the pool
But that is just me rambling----------

Just wanted to see how people react when they see floating pool speakers. It's admittedly an underrated form of sound speaker - not many people talk about them. Query: How can this be spam this is the basement! There are tonnes of of other posts in the basement that look way more spammy to me. I thought this was the place to talk about anything under the sun...

I doubt you would be able to find high-quality floating pool speakers that actually produce audiophile grade sound. My research has shown that this is not possible because pool speakers are limited by their size and battery power. Plus the sound compartments are all water-tight so there's little room for bass reproduction. Let me know if you ever find an expensive floating pool speaker that produces high quality sound I'll feature it on my blog :D~:-D~:grin:

At some point you may have to design a system for a pool so large it can not be adequately covered by sources at the edges or above it.

It might happen.

Then that is going to be a LARGE pool :)

So how do you design a system in which the speakers are constantly moving around?

Are you guys taking this seriously...? Putting speakers floating on top of the water does not seem very practical.

If you pool is so large that you can't hear land based speakers when swimming out in the middle, maybe you need bigger land based speakers, or a smaller pool.

Floating pool speakers don't produce audiophile grade sound (well for obvious reasons) but they are a fun commodity to have, especially at a pool party :razz:

If you want really hardcore pool speakers then you might be referring to submerged pool speakers that play music underwater. These are for big sized pools

I've been to parties with pools and speakers, but the speakers were high and dry, and more than satisfactory.

Underwater speakers AFAK are mainly used for synchronized swimming events.

And YET ANOTHER stupid audio product that lowers the bar on what people expect when listening to music.

Just add it to list of crap that helps turn people away from quality sound and they start to EXPECT that bad sound is the way it is "supposed" to sound. NOT

I hate crappy audio-and yet there just turns up more and more-just like these stupid things.

It may be fine for people with low expectations-but mine are a bit higher. I would rather do without-than have to listen to crap!!!!!!!!!
