Can any of you recommend a foam material that would be suitable for outdoor microphone windscreen use? This would be outdoors for an extended period under all weather conditions. The microphone it protects is waterproof so it is not an issue if rain can penetrate it, but it would still need to perform during wet conditions so it can't become waterlogged.

I was thinking something like silicone coated melamine or polyether.

Also if you know of any foam fabricators that you would recommend, let me know.

Thanks

Hey Nick,
I would see what people in the broadcast and movie industry are using to protect their mics in wet shoots. There's likely a product out there designed for keeping a mic dry while filming in a hurricane. Us live sound folks don't like rainy weather that much.

I'd start with looking on markertek or broadcast supply warehouse's website.
