He makes several strong points but most PA's will throw a ton of SPL into the reverberant field below 300Hz, which is really what he seems to be focused on. That and the reality that many engineers use subwoofers to harm concert goers . These pictures show a big difference between 250Hz and 500Hz in terms of directivity which means a big difference in reverberation.
