GLD firmware requests

I am starting this thread to gather thoughts on what features are desired for future firmware releases from A&H for the GLD series.

Perhaps some from Allen & Heath will see it. Cary Davis used to participate in the other forum. Maybe he will drop by for a visit?

How about one suggestion per post?

Re: GLD firmware requests

I want to know which scene I'm working from when the console is power cycled. The information stays but the scene menu shows 001 as the current cue. That drives me crazy. Also a major problem for me is that it reverts to the last save point if it loses power. I'm not aware of any console since a 15 year old Innovison that has a volatile memory.

Other than that I love them. I especially like the idiot proof digital snake for a console at this price point. For once I'm glad they did not put features into that part of the system. No networking, no funny business.

The one I use comes back up the way it was switched off. I would normally just recall whatever scene I wanted after switching on the console. Even if it told you what scene had last been recalled you don't know if any changes have been made manually after it was recalled, so wouldn't necessarily tell you what state the console was in. It does seem a bit silly though to display a "current cue" that isn't the last recalled.

The GLD does periodic autosaves, so if you haven't changed anything recently, it will likely seem to remember its state, but it does indeed revert.

Re: GLD firmware requests

I have a figure of 20 seconds in my head, that might be the M7 though... I've had it freeze once during a fairly rushed soundcheck where I was changing a lot of settings in not a lot of time. I had to restart it and I didn't notice any change when it came back up (well, I noticed that the sound came back on and all the faders and buttons worked again :D~:-D~) .

Re: GLD firmware requests

Ok, this isn't really a firmware request, more of a product request....

How about a GLD-72 or 36? The iLive has 112, 80, & 72 sizes.
19" rack mount size. 01v96 replacement that uses the stage boxes?

The QU16 is the right form factor but not expandable in channels.

I want something small for simple gigs.
