Re: GLD80 Discussion Rob, I've found it helpful to periodically clear the log. I don't have one in front of me, but if memory serves it's setup/memory/utilities. One of the more recent firmware updates set a max size limit to the log, but I've still fixed excessively long boot up times by clearing out the log. Another thought is that, using Avid's, the iPad control is via VNC and really slows down the console, including meters. I've also experienced similar symptoms on Yamaha's using Studio Manager over wireless before the iPad days. It may be worthwhile to see if you can narrow down the sluggishness to the iPad connections and attack the problem from an IT perspective. I have two GLD systems and really enjoy them. For anyone reading a long and questioning the platform, I'd say that every system will have problems in one way or another at some point, especially when you start adding on 3rd party networking devices, etc. I think if you get enough experience on any platform you'll find a chink in the armor somewhere. I've used just about every platform and wouldn't hesitate to buy the A&H's again for the job I'm asking them to do. Also, the support from our rep has been great, very quick and knowledgeable. They've also been quick to call up England and get back to me when I stump them or have a suggestion for the next version. thomas d.
