Harman Group acquired by Samsung

While this acquisition is primarily about Harman's automotive arm, I can't help but wonder what the impact will be on the pro side of Harman.

I think it's too early to tell.

On one hand Samsung seems to be well aware of what they acquired, according to their presentation. They know what part of the revenue the pro audio market brings home.

On the other hand the pro audio brands (other than JBL) are not that important for their automotive strategy. So they could sell parts of the pro audio brands or strip them down to what they need of them.

According to multiple reps I know, nothing changes. The automotive industry is what pays the bulk of the bills and drives the technology. All of the new Crown amplifier technology is a derivative of the automotive industry tech.

Must be hard to compete against these mega conglomerates. Bless the little guys still coming out with product lines.
