Anyone got any suggestions? I'm looking for a headworn mic only (no headphones). These seem pretty few and far between and it also seems that the ones really built for the noisy environments contain heavy duty headphones

Have you tried Clear-Com's CC-27
They advertise it as a noise-canceling dynamic mic.

Look for the dynamic mics that are used on the David Clark headsets (the part is originally manufactured by EV). Best I've ever heard.

I emailed a guy at David Clark. Unfortunately they don't make anything without the headphones.
