Re: Heil PR22, PR20, and ''Handi Mic Pro Plus'' I am currently designing a musical that involves an on-stage ''pit chorus'' that sings in four different places. There are three singers who move around and since the director didn't want twelve mics on stands I started looking through my collection and local rental house's inventories for a mic that had a pretty broad pick up pattern so multiple performers could share a single mic at times, sounded good, exhibited low proximity effect, and had good rear rejection since the pit chorus needs to be piped back into the stage monitors for the regular chorus/singers to hear them and stay together. I ended up demoing and purchasing four PR22s for this application. They are pretty much everything I was looking for. They are on stands so the handling noise of the PR20 wouldn't have been an issue but I liked their slight mid-range bump, they weren't that much more expensive, and I figured I might want to use them at some point in the future handheld and I didn't want to buy something that wouldn't work down the road. Anyway, I can't recommend them highly enough.
