Hi there! I need some advice on setting up a small to mid-sized sound

system for bar presentations and private parties.

I am thinking of doing something like this:

I have a Behringer Powered Mixer, a PMP1680S which I run 2 15" +

tweeter speakers from.
I intend to add two more speakers to this in the following way - using the mains outputs L and R
connect to a Behringer iNuke 3000 amplifier and then to two 18" subwoofers.

My doubts a re these:
1.Can I do this without damaging the PMP1680S - I think they are not, but are the front outputs amplified?

2. If I add the speakers do I have to use an equalizer like the Behringer

ULTRAGRAPH PRO FBQ1502 - Behringer: ULTRAGRAPH PRO FBQ1502

or a crossover like the Behringer SUPER-X PRO CX2310 - Behringer: SUPER-X PRO CX2310
or the Behringer SUPER-X PRO CX3400 - Behringer: SUPER-X PRO CX3400 ?

3. Which is better with the equalizer(with the x-over freq. adjust) or a separate crossover

just for the subwoofers? I intend to run only the subwoofers from this amplifier as the other 2 speakers do the rest.

I have a preference for Behringer because I live in a region where other brands are harder to find and we have lots of places selling Behringer stuff. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Help building mid-sized system

While the PMP1680S has a stereo pre-amplifier "MAIN" output, it does not appear that using this interrupts the signal from the mixer to the internal amplifier. At any rate the manual does not indicate that it does so. If that is the case, then you can use it to drive a subwoofer amp after going through a crossover to filter out the high frequency, but there is not a way that I can see to highpass the signal going to your tops if you are using the built in amp to power them. It would be better to have 2 external amps and a crossover for your mains and subs, then just use the PMP1680S for the mixer and maybe to power stage monitors.
