Hi there! I need some advice on setting up a small to mid-sized sound system for bar presentations and private parties.

I am thinking of doing something like this:

I have a Behringer Powered Mixer, a PMP1680S which I run 2 15" + tweeter speakers from.

I intend to add two more speakers to this in the following way - using the mains outputs L and R connect to a Behringer iNuke 3000 amplifier and then to two 18" subwoofers.

My doubts are these:
1.Can I do this without damaging the PMP1680S - I think they are not, but are the front outputs amplified?

2. If I add the speakers do I have to use an equalizer like the Behringer

ULTRAGRAPH PRO FBQ1502 - Behringer: ULTRAGRAPH PRO FBQ1502

or a crossover like the Behringer SUPER-X PRO CX2310 -

Behringer: SUPER-X PRO CX2310 ?3. Which is better with the equalizer(with the x-over freq. adjust) or a separate crossover

just for the subwoofers? I intend to run only the subwoofers from this amplifier as the other 2 speakers do the rest.

I have a preference for Behringer because I live in a region where other brands are harder to find and we have lots of places selling Behringer

stuff. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Help with a mid-sized sound setup!

You would need to filter the signal to both the subs AND the tops with a crossover. I don't see any way the PMP1680S will let you filter the signal between the main fader and the built in amp. You may need to do all of the amplification externally, and just use the mixer portion. Maybe you could use the onboard amp for monitors.

Thanks Mike! Thats a great idea to use the inbuilt amp for monitors! I will be looking into that and the right crossover for me. Once again I really appreciate your time and help.
