Re: High school stadium line array

Now wait a minute, didn't Clair do that swirly thing with horns (a few years ago, OK a few decades ago).

Stack and splay (a totally viable technique) is very different than what is done here.

In this case it got "louder"-but also sounded worse at the same time. I guess an acceptable tradeoff for somebody.

Re: High school stadium line array

Looks like a local high school stadium done installed themselves a couple of them there fancy line arrays:

Speaker cables appear to be expertly strung, too.

I like the beam steering via driver offset to steer the beam up.

I bet somebody is "proud" of the install. WOW look at all those speakers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The term "not a clue" comes to mind.

At least it's not distributed badly like at my High School's fields. I hear AT LEAST 3 different sources at any given time because of how they are positioned... I think there are about 8 horns pointing at various angles on one of the main bleachers.

But they have the field "well covered".

They just like to forget about that little thing call "propagation delay" . Of course many in our industry ALSO want to simply ignore that little fact-that causes all sorts of sonic issues--------------------------

A SINGLE source wins every time. Anytime you start to add sources-there are compromises.
