How reliable is MiPro wireless?

I'll be doing theatrical work at a local community center for the weekend. Since I don't have the budget nor the time to invest in and deploy a desired wireless system, a friend has some MiPro along with some more Sennheiser units he's willing to let me borrow for the weekend event for free.

Rig: (The first 3 are in a sennheiser antenna distro)

- Sennheiser ew135 g3 A (mine)
- Sennheiser ew135 g3 A (mine)
- Sennheiser ew112 g3 A (mine) with countryman e6 (his)
- Sennheiser ew112-p g3 A (his) with me2 lav (mine)
- Sennheiser ew112 g2 A (his) with me2 lav (his)
- MiPro ACT-707S 6C (his) with countryman e6 (his)
- MiPro MR-801 C3 (his) with MiPro MU-53HN (XLR) (his)

To be honest, I've never heard of MiPro so I'm weary even though I need all the wireless I can get.

What's the consensus on MiPro? Also, how does this rig look as a whole?

Re: How reliable is MiPro wireless?

I have not used the MiPro MR-801 but I can tell you the ACT-707s is one of my favorite units at any price. I prefer them over all the Sennheiser units you have listed. They will interchange with some of the Beyerdynamic Opus series wireless. I have around 20 channels of the ACT series. I believe the MR-801 is basically a fixed channel version of the ACT-707 series.

I have the ACT-707, dual channel unit with two of their handheld condensers. One of the best gear investments I have made in a long time. Replaced Shure handhelds, PGX series - which I know are not the best example of Shure's wireless technology. Mike Pyle fixed me up.

Re: How reliable is MiPro wireless?

I have also mipro wireless, but branded as beyer dynamic.
I'm very very happy with them, but I know people having problems with them when abused.

My main problem is that the frequency range they are on, will soon be very troublesome as the 790-850 range is sold for wireless telephone, 4G phone. And the netwerk has been started to roll out.

Re: How reliable is MiPro wireless?

I have 12 channels of the ACT7xx series. I love them. MUCH better than the AT3000 series and better features than the Shure SLX, both of which are the price comparable systems. With proper coordination (I use Wireless Workbench) I've never had a problem.

The only issue I have is with the beltpacks. The battery door clips break if you do not press the buttons in while closing the door. A minor inconvenience although the replacements are a bit pricey.

I've had several people come up to me after shows asking what I use. They always say "I always hear pops and crackles and static at other shows. What do you use? How do you make it sound so clear?"

I haven't used there rf mics, but I can say there stereo iem units are for lack of better words garbage... I was forced to use 8 channels of them at a show in Asia (promoter disregarded the rider and advances...) and I had nothing but issues with noise and rf stability. That's my 2¢ on the company...

I have one set of MiPro IEM, so I don't know if your problems were due to using 8 sets at the same time, but I A/B'ed closely with Sennheiser G2 before going with MiPro (years ago). I found it had WAY better RF-performance (should have due to the diversity) and slightly better audio. Sennheiser won on channel separation (most important when using dual mono) and on low-end, because the MiPro for some reason high passes the audio at about 80 Hz...but the RF-performance is quite good?
